IMANI HOUSE was incorporated in Brooklyn, NY in 1991 and our first service was an Adult Education project catering to 10 students in a borrowed space. Since then our programs have grown to operate out of three locations and utilize in excess of 50 volunteers and 28 full and part-time staff, who provide direct and indirect services to over 4,000 community members annually.
IMANI HOUSE began offering services in Liberia, West Africa in 1985. At the height of the civil war in 1990 we began an orphanage for displaced children , a sustainable agriculture project, healthcare services, and an adult education program. Currently we serve over 16,000 Liberians annually with services including Adult Education, a Teen Peer Education Program and a Child & Maternal Healthcare Facility.
