Since the free program launched in 1994 it has helped thousands of students realize their potential. The Adult Education Program is supported by a corps of dedicated community volunteer tutors who are trained and certified through Imani House. More than 75 community members volunteered to tutor last fiscal year, logging more than 2,000 instructional hours to help fellow New Yorkers achieve their educational goals.

Thanks to our family of devoted tutors, diligent interns, and contributing friends, our hard-working students are learning to read, improving their English and passing the GED test!
