Since the free program launched in 1998, it has helped thousands of students realize their potential. The Adult Education Program is supported by a corps of dedicated volunteer tutors who are trained and certified through Imani House. More than 80 community members volunteered to tutor last fiscal year, logging more than 2,500 instructional hours to help fellow New Yorkers achieve their educational goals.

Thanks to our family of devoted tutors, diligent interns, and contributing friends, our hard-working students are learning to read, improving their English and passing the GED test!
